Centre for Teaching and Learning
The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) facilitates academic professional development (PD) with emphasis on the quality of the student learning experience and support for those experiences both in and outside the classroom. Our focus is on internal and external PD that leads to improved student learning through improved teaching and learning practices, systems and support.
Welcome to Georgian
The Centre for Teaching and Learning is here to support all faculty. As a new faculty, we know you have lots of questions. We hope you will find this information and professional development opportunities helpful as you start your journey.
Focus on Academic Integrity Day
Making academic integrity everyone’s job
Save the date! Join your colleagues as ݮƵrecognizes on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.
This year the theme is “All hands-on deck: Making academic integrity everyone’s job”. This half day event will come to you live in Barrie, Orillia, Midland and Owen Sound campuses with options to join virtually.
Everyone has a role in promoting and supporting academic integrity. Together, we will explore good practices, model desired academic conduct, and highlight restorative justice approaches. Learn from and share with peers as we navigate the waters of academic integrity and uncover what’s hidden beneath the waves.
Our voyage is clear—engage faculty and staff in honest and inspiring conversations about academic integrity and leave no one up the creek. Registration is coming soon, and spaces will be limited. Stay tuned for more details.

ݮƵFaculty Competency Framework
The Innovative ݮƵ Faculty Competency Framework is a system meant to help educators consider, engage in conversation about, and celebrate the many roles we assume and hats we wear in our day-to-day professional lives.
We are designers, researchers, inclusive practitioners, changemakers, digital navigators, collaborators, reflectors, and mentors.
We weave associated competencies into our daily practices and grow from emerging to performing to transforming over time. We are thrilled to connect with you about this model.
